Is there a private baby tracker that doesn't harvest my data?
Yes. Lunita logs feeds, sleep and diapers, keeps that data scoped to your family, asks for explicit consent before the first entry, and ships with no ad-tracking SDK and no HealthKit integration. You can export everything or delete it all at any time.
Why "free" baby trackers are rarely free
A baby tracker quietly accumulates some of the most sensitive data a family produces: feeding volumes, sleep patterns, health signals, timestamps that map your whole day. When an app is free and ad-supported, that data is often the product. For something this intimate, "where does it go and who can see it" is a fair question to ask before you log a single feed.
Lunita's answer is to keep care data private by design rather than as a paid add-on. The same principle runs through the app — see a baby diary app without ads for the business-model side.
Health data, treated as health data
Under GDPR, an infant's feeding and sleep records count as health data, which needs explicit, informed consent. So before your first log, Lunita shows a consent sheet that explains what's stored, who can see it (your family only — never the shared diary), and where to withdraw. The choice is recorded with a timestamp, and you can delete all care data from Settings whenever you want.
No HealthKit, no ad tracking
Lunita has no HealthKit integration — care data lives in Lunita's own backend, scoped to your family, not pooled into Apple Health. There's no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics tracker silently profiling you. The voice features that log a feed or write a diary entry run their speech recognition on your device, so audio of your nursery never leaves the phone; the mechanics are in hands-free baby tracker.
"Without an account" — what that really means
To sync care logs between two parents' phones and keep your data recoverable, Lunita does use a lightweight sign-in (including Sign in with Apple, which shares as little as possible). What you don't need is a social profile, a public feed, or to hand over a marketing-ready identity. The account exists to protect and sync your family's data, not to monetise it. If you want a single-device, no-sync experience, you simply never invite anyone.
You own the data — export or delete
Private only counts if you can leave. Lunita lets you export your data and delete your account with a full cascade across your family's content. The care log is part of Lunita's free core; the optional Premium layer is for AI features like the monthly story, not for unlocking basic privacy.
